Q-DEX On-Line®(Patent Pending) provides the most up-to-date abstracts of the IWCC cases and extends back to 1985. The database is updated regularly with new abstracts and case copies. Citations are added to prior abstracts when the Appellate or Supreme Courts issue important decisions relating to prior IIC/IWCC cases. New in 2006, abstracts of the Appellate and Supreme Court decisions important to WC law have been added along with several significant cases from prior years. Slip opinion copies (for all 2006-current 2008 cases and select cases back to mid 1996) are also being added regularly as are additional abstracts. Commission case copies are also included with an on-line subscription. Case copies for the years 2000 through 2006 are on-line. Additional case copies will be continually added. A sophisticated, yet intuitive, query system allows quick & thorough researching of W.C. issues. The Field Search/Abstract search allows for the selection of the "chapter" or primary issue (e.g., Accident, Causal, etc.) & then drop-down menus with specific issues for that chapter appear. Searches can include multiple issues as well as a word search of the abstract text. The Advance Search query allows a search on an issue and a given Arbitrator's or Commissioner(s)' names. The Case Title query allows searches, (from 1995 on) by case name or WC number. From 1996 on searches can be run on Arbitrator name, Commissioner names(s), plaintiff firm & defense firm. This information is being updated continually to allow these searches on prior cases as well. Please see the on-line DEMO for query examples & to try your hand at a search. Q-DEX® Annual Edition books are available for every year from 1981, the year the Commission's decisions became precedential, to the Advance Edition 2006. The Annual Edition is a hard-bound book that includes an index & abstracts of the Commission's decisions for the given year. A soft-bound Advance Edition precedes the Annual Edition & is included in the annual subscription cost. But once the Annual is published, the Advance Edition for that year is no longer available.

For attorneys who do not specialize in Illinois workers’ compensation law but at times have comp cases in their office, or for workers' compensation specialists who have an unusual issue, our General Counsel is available to perform research and provide you with an analysis of your case. We will fax or email to you the relevant abstracts culled from our database along with an overview of your case. The fee for this work is $200 per hour. Please call our office for further information.
As a service to our book clients, IIC/IWCC cases can be faxed for a service fee of $15 plus $2 per page. For non-clients the service fee is $30 plus $2 per page. As cases become available on-line they are included in the on-line subscription. For clients purchasing a full year on-line license, any case copies needed that are not yet on-line are free.
